Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Computer Science lessons to students from Key Stage 3 through to A Level.
  • Develop and implement a varied and challenging curriculum that encourages critical thinking and problem-solving.
  • Support students in achieving academic excellence and preparing for university and future careers.
  • Contribute to the school’s co-curricular programme by leading or assisting in relevant activities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and enhance teaching and learning across the department.
  • Provide pastoral care and mentorship to students, ensuring their personal and academic development.
  • Stay up to date with developments in Computer Science and integrate new technologies into teaching.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge in Computer Science.
  • Experience in teaching Computer Science at Key Stage 3 and A Level.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK (no sponsorship of visas).

Preferred

  • Experience in a school with a strong co-curricular programme.
  • Familiarity with teaching in an independent school setting.
  • Experience with programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++.
  • Experience with teaching students with diverse learning needs.
  • Previous experience in mentoring or leading student projects.
