The Opportunity:
As an Engineering & Computing Teacher - Summer School, you will play a key role in delivering engaging and hands-on lessons to students aged 14-17. This is a fantastic opportunity to share your expertise in a dynamic and supportive setting, while also leading academic excursions in London. The role offers flexible contract options and a rewarding summer experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, interactive lessons in Engineering & Computing to students aged 14-17
- Plan and implement a curriculum that aligns with the school’s educational goals and student needs
- Lead and manage academic excursions, including visits to museums, universities, and sites of interest
- Support students during the day and ensure a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to enhance the summer school experience
- Participate in planning and delivering a student showcase on the final Friday of Block 2
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance
- Adhere to the school’s safeguarding and welfare policies at all times
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in Engineering or Computing
- Proven ability to engage and inspire students in a classroom setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
Preferred
- Experience in teaching students aged 14-17
- Familiarity with academic excursions and fieldwork
- Experience with curriculum development and delivery
- Flexibility to work across multiple contract blocks
- Knowledge of STEM subjects and their real-world applications
