The Opportunity:
A school is seeking a passionate and dedicated Computer Science Teacher to join a dynamic and rapidly expanding department. Key Responsibilities:
- Teach Computer Science to students across a range of year groups, including Shell, Remove, and Fifth Forms.
- Deliver a curriculum that includes topics such as artificial intelligence, programming in Python, and robotics.
- Support students in developing practical skills through projects in mathematical modelling, scientific analysis, and game development.
- Assist in departmental initiatives and contribute to the wider academic and pastoral life of the school.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to students, encouraging critical thinking and creativity.
- Stay up to date with developments in the field of Computer Science and incorporate innovative teaching methods.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the department’s teaching and learning strategies.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities provided by the school.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in Computer Science education.
- Strong knowledge of Computer Science curriculum and teaching methodologies.
- Ability to engage students and foster a love of learning in a dynamic subject area.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Preferred
- Experience teaching at secondary level or equivalent.
- Familiarity with IGCSE and A-level Computer Science syllabi.
- Experience with programming languages such as Python and hardware like Raspberry Pi.
- Background in developing innovative and hands-on learning projects.
- Experience in pastoral care or student mentorship.
