The Opportunity:

A school is seeking a passionate and dedicated Computer Science Teacher to join a dynamic and rapidly expanding department. Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Computer Science to students across a range of year groups, including Shell, Remove, and Fifth Forms.
  • Deliver a curriculum that includes topics such as artificial intelligence, programming in Python, and robotics.
  • Support students in developing practical skills through projects in mathematical modelling, scientific analysis, and game development.
  • Assist in departmental initiatives and contribute to the wider academic and pastoral life of the school.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to students, encouraging critical thinking and creativity.
  • Stay up to date with developments in the field of Computer Science and incorporate innovative teaching methods.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the department’s teaching and learning strategies.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities provided by the school.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Computer Science education.
  • Strong knowledge of Computer Science curriculum and teaching methodologies.
  • Ability to engage students and foster a love of learning in a dynamic subject area.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience teaching at secondary level or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with IGCSE and A-level Computer Science syllabi.
  • Experience with programming languages such as Python and hardware like Raspberry Pi.
  • Background in developing innovative and hands-on learning projects.
  • Experience in pastoral care or student mentorship.
