The Opportunity:

As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a vital role in ensuring continuity of learning during teacher absences. You will support students, manage behaviour, and maintain a positive learning environment. This is an ideal role for someone passionate about education and eager to contribute to a school that values innovation and student success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise students during short-term teacher absences and ensure a productive learning environment.
  • Prepare and manage learning materials in line with cover work set by the teacher.
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour and promote a positive classroom atmosphere.
  • Organise and manage the daily cover rota for absent staff.
  • Contact teaching supply agencies to arrange supply staff when required.
  • Support classroom activities as directed during periods of low cover demand.
  • Communicate effectively with students, staff, and external agencies.
  • Uphold confidentiality and maintain professional standards at all times.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Excellent communication and listening skills.
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to manage behaviour effectively in a classroom setting.
  • Commitment to student welfare and academic success.
  • Experience working with young people or in an educational setting.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching or education support roles.
  • Familiarity with curriculum planning and delivery.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies.
  • Experience with special educational needs and inclusive practices.
  • Interest in pursuing a teaching career.
