The Opportunity:

As an Exam Invigilator, you will play a vital role in maintaining the integrity of the school's examination process. Your responsibilities will include supervising students during exams and ensuring all legal and school requirements are met. This is a key role in supporting academic success and fairness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise students during school and external examinations in accordance with legal and school regulations.
  • Prepare exam rooms, admit and seat candidates, and manage the distribution and collection of exam papers.
  • Maintain strict timekeeping and ensure a calm, focused environment for all candidates.
  • Address minor behavior issues and manage emergency situations with composure.
  • Ensure the security and confidentiality of all examination materials.
  • Work collaboratively with other invigilators and support staff to uphold examination standards.
  • Record and report any incidents or concerns during examinations.
  • Maintain accurate records of all examination-related activities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A good standard of education and the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A calm, self-confident demeanor and the ability to remain composed under pressure.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, confidentiality, and data protection.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work across different examination periods and locations.

Preferred

  • Prior experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Experience in exam invigilation or similar roles.
  • Familiarity with Ofsted standards and examination procedures.
  • Experience with safeguarding and child protection policies.
  • Knowledge of British Values and inclusive education practices.
