The Opportunity:
As an Exam Invigilator, you will play a vital role in maintaining the integrity of the school's examination process. Your responsibilities will include supervising students during exams and ensuring all legal and school requirements are met. This is a key role in supporting academic success and fairness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise students during school and external examinations in accordance with legal and school regulations.
- Prepare exam rooms, admit and seat candidates, and manage the distribution and collection of exam papers.
- Maintain strict timekeeping and ensure a calm, focused environment for all candidates.
- Address minor behavior issues and manage emergency situations with composure.
- Ensure the security and confidentiality of all examination materials.
- Work collaboratively with other invigilators and support staff to uphold examination standards.
- Record and report any incidents or concerns during examinations.
- Maintain accurate records of all examination-related activities.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A good standard of education and the ability to work independently.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- A calm, self-confident demeanor and the ability to remain composed under pressure.
- Knowledge of safeguarding, confidentiality, and data protection.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work across different examination periods and locations.
Preferred
- Prior experience in a school or educational setting.
- Experience in exam invigilation or similar roles.
- Familiarity with Ofsted standards and examination procedures.
- Experience with safeguarding and child protection policies.
- Knowledge of British Values and inclusive education practices.
