Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise students during teacher absences and ensure a safe and productive learning environment.
  • Prepare and manage learning materials according to teacher instructions.
  • Promote positive behaviour and high expectations in the classroom.
  • Organise and manage the daily cover rota and liaise with supply agencies.
  • Support teaching staff where required, including classroom assistance and administrative tasks.
  • Maintain confidentiality and respect in all student interactions.
  • Contribute to a culture of success and mutual support within the school.
  • Assist in the implementation of school policies and procedures.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to manage student behaviour effectively.
  • Commitment to student welfare and learning.
  • Experience working with young people or in an educational setting.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching or learning support.
  • Familiarity with curriculum planning and delivery.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies.
  • Experience with using educational technology in the classroom.
  • Previous experience in a cover supervisor or similar role.
