The Opportunity:

As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a vital role in supporting teaching and learning across the school. This role is ideal for those with a passion for working with young people and a commitment to education. You will deliver lessons, manage student behavior, and ensure a productive learning environment during teacher absences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver prepared lessons across multiple subjects to ensure students continue their learning.
  • Supervise students and maintain a calm, purposeful environment that promotes engagement and progress.
  • Set and uphold high standards for behavior and academic effort.
  • Follow school systems to ensure minimal disruption and a safe learning environment.
  • Build positive, purposeful relationships with students to support their development.
  • Model the school’s values and ethos in all interactions with students.
  • Ensure students complete set work to the best of their ability.
  • Support the school’s mission to provide a high-quality, inclusive education.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Minimum grade 4/C in Maths and English.
  • Ability to deliver lessons to students across the secondary age range.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of behavior and academic progress.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in a dynamic environment.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching or education, including those considering a PGCE, Teach First, or School Direct course.
  • Experience with teaching English as a second language.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory or support role within an educational setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
