The Opportunity:

A Speech and Language Therapist is needed on a part-time basis to support students with a range of special educational needs. This role will involve working closely with teachers and support staff to deliver person-centered outcomes aligned with Education Health Care Plans, making a meaningful impact on student development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality speech and language therapy interventions to students with a range of special educational needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers, learning support assistants, and other professionals to support students’ individual needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized therapy plans aligned with Education Health Care Plans.
  • Provide guidance and support to parents and carers to ensure consistent progress at home and school.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and interventions.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of whole-school support strategies.
  • Attend training and professional development sessions to maintain and enhance skills.
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive environment for all students, adhering to safeguarding policies and procedures.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Speech and Language Therapist with relevant professional experience.
  • Experience working with children and young people with a range of special educational needs in an educational setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and staff.
  • Ability to develop and implement individualized therapy plans.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Knowledge of Education Health Care Plans and person-centered approaches.
  • Experience with a range of communication and speech disorders.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work within a dynamic and supportive team.
