The Opportunity:

As a Cover Supervisor, you will support teaching and learning during teacher absences by maintaining good order and ensuring students stay on task. This role is essential in ensuring continuity of learning and upholding the school’s high standards of education and behaviour.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise classes during short-term teacher absences.
• Follow lesson instructions provided by the absent teacher.
• Maintain a calm and productive learning environment.
• Support students in staying focused and engaged.
• Communicate effectively with teaching staff and students.
• Adapt quickly to changing circumstances and manage classroom behaviour.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all students during supervision.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Experience working with secondary aged children in an educational setting.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage classroom behaviour.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

• Experience in teaching or classroom support roles.
• Familiarity with the school curriculum and teaching methods.
• Previous experience in a supervisory or pastoral role.
