The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Cover Supervisor to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring students receive consistent support and guidance throughout their learning journey. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining a positive and structured environment for students aged 11–16.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students in a structured and positive manner, ensuring they remain focused and engaged in learning.
  • Build strong, respectful relationships with students, promoting a safe and inclusive environment.
  • Work closely with teaching staff to provide cover and support during lessons.
  • Monitor student behavior and ensure that clear boundaries are maintained at all times.
  • Assist in the smooth running of the school during non-teaching hours and breaks.
  • Provide constructive feedback to students and support their academic and personal development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to maintain a cohesive and effective team approach.
  • Participate in staff development and training opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working with young people, ideally within an educational setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • A flexible and adaptable approach to work, especially in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred

  • Previous experience in a similar role, such as a Cover Supervisor or Learning Support Assistant.
  • Experience with behaviour management strategies.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • Experience in a school setting with a diverse student population.
