The Opportunity:

As a Maths Assistant Faculty Leader, you will play a key role in supporting the Mathematics department and contributing to the continued development of the curriculum. This is a unique opportunity to inspire young people aged 11–16 and make a real difference in their educational journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Mathematics faculty in delivering high-quality teaching and learning across KS3, KS4, and other areas such as Statistics and Numeracy.
  • Collaborate with departmental colleagues to develop and implement effective teaching strategies and curriculum pathways.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to other staff members within the Mathematics team.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, ensuring that all learners are supported to achieve their full potential.
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of professional development opportunities for staff.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to ensure alignment with the school’s vision and goals.
  • Support the implementation of school-wide initiatives focused on student achievement and well-being.
  • Engage in regular communication with students, parents, and colleagues to foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Mathematics education.
  • Proven ability to deliver high-quality lessons and support student progress.
  • Experience working with students aged 11–16 in a secondary school setting.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum development or leadership within a school setting.
  • Familiarity with KS3 and KS4 Mathematics curricula.
  • Experience with data analysis and student progress tracking.
  • Involvement in professional development and training initiatives.
  • Knowledge of teaching strategies that support diverse learners.
