Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Criminology and Sociology lessons to Level 3 and A Level students.
  • Motivate and challenge students to achieve their full potential and produce outstanding work.
  • Assess, record, and track student progress effectively.
  • Develop engaging and innovative teaching resources and materials.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching and learning across the department.
  • Support students from a range of backgrounds and ensure inclusive practices.
  • Maintain strong communication with students, parents, and other staff members.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school through extra-curricular activities and events.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A degree (or equivalent) in Criminology, Sociology, or a related subject.
  • Proven teaching experience in a school or college setting.
  • Demonstrable ability to lead and deliver effective teaching and learning.
  • Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to working with students from diverse backgrounds.

Preferred

  • Experience teaching Level 3 and A Level Criminology and Sociology.
  • Knowledge of current trends and developments in Criminology and Sociology.
  • Experience with pastoral care and student support.
  • Familiarity with assessment and tracking systems.
