The Opportunity:

As Curriculum Leader English, you will play a key role in leading and developing the English with Media curriculum across the school. This is a middle management position that offers the opportunity to drive improvements in teaching, learning, and student achievement. The role requires a highly motivated individual who can inspire and lead a team of teachers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage and develop the English with Media curriculum across the school to ensure excellence in teaching and learning.
  • Foster a shared vision within the curriculum team aligned with the school’s overall mission and values.
  • Monitor and evaluate the quality of teaching and learning through lesson observations and implement strategies for improvement.
  • Ensure the department’s aims and objectives are regularly reviewed and consulted with stakeholders.
  • Manage financial and resource allocation to maximise student achievement and attainment.
  • Collaborate with other curriculum areas to create cross-curricular learning opportunities and raise attainment.
  • Promote and support a range of enrichment and extracurricular activities within the English curriculum.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified and experienced teacher eligible to work in the UK.
  • Proven ability to deliver outstanding lessons and demonstrate strong subject knowledge in English.
  • Experience in curriculum leadership and management.
  • Understanding of current curriculum developments and best practices.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading curriculum development and improvement initiatives.
  • Experience with cross-curricular planning and collaboration.
  • Familiarity with teaching English as a second language.
  • Experience in safeguarding and pastoral care.
