The Opportunity:
As Curriculum Leader English, you will play a key role in leading and developing the English with Media curriculum across the school. This is a middle management position that offers the opportunity to drive improvements in teaching, learning, and student achievement. The role requires a highly motivated individual who can inspire and lead a team of teachers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, manage and develop the English with Media curriculum across the school to ensure excellence in teaching and learning.
- Foster a shared vision within the curriculum team aligned with the school’s overall mission and values.
- Monitor and evaluate the quality of teaching and learning through lesson observations and implement strategies for improvement.
- Ensure the department’s aims and objectives are regularly reviewed and consulted with stakeholders.
- Manage financial and resource allocation to maximise student achievement and attainment.
- Collaborate with other curriculum areas to create cross-curricular learning opportunities and raise attainment.
- Promote and support a range of enrichment and extracurricular activities within the English curriculum.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified and experienced teacher eligible to work in the UK.
- Proven ability to deliver outstanding lessons and demonstrate strong subject knowledge in English.
- Experience in curriculum leadership and management.
- Understanding of current curriculum developments and best practices.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
Preferred
- Experience in leading curriculum development and improvement initiatives.
- Experience with cross-curricular planning and collaboration.
- Familiarity with teaching English as a second language.
- Experience in safeguarding and pastoral care.
