The Opportunity:
A Curriculum Leader - Maths is sought to drive improvements in the Maths curriculum and lead a team of teachers to deliver outstanding student outcomes. This role is ideal for a qualified and experienced teacher passionate about education and committed to raising standards in the 11–16 phase.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, manage and develop the Maths curriculum to ensure high-quality teaching and strong student outcomes.
- Establish a shared vision within the department that aligns with whole-school priorities and motivates colleagues.
- Monitor teaching and learning quality through lesson observations and implement improvements where needed.
- Implement intervention strategies to raise attainment and accelerate student progress.
- Review and embed departmental aims and objectives in practice regularly.
- Manage departmental resources and budget effectively to maximise impact and value for money.
- Support the professional development and performance management of staff within the department.
- Collaborate with other curriculum areas to promote cross-curricular learning and whole-school improvement.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified and experienced teacher eligible to work in the UK.
- Successful experience in the 11–16 phase with a track record of delivering good or outstanding lessons.
- Strong subject knowledge in Mathematics and a clear understanding of current curriculum developments.
- Demonstrated leadership and organisational skills.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
- Commitment to raising standards and accelerating student progress.
Preferred
- Experience in a leadership or middle management role within education.
- Experience with curriculum development and strategic planning.
- Knowledge of intervention strategies and assessment practices.
- Experience with cross-curricular collaboration and whole-school improvement initiatives.
