The Opportunity:

A Curriculum Leader - Maths is sought to drive improvements in the Maths curriculum and lead a team of teachers to deliver outstanding student outcomes. This role is ideal for a qualified and experienced teacher passionate about education and committed to raising standards in the 11–16 phase.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage and develop the Maths curriculum to ensure high-quality teaching and strong student outcomes.
  • Establish a shared vision within the department that aligns with whole-school priorities and motivates colleagues.
  • Monitor teaching and learning quality through lesson observations and implement improvements where needed.
  • Implement intervention strategies to raise attainment and accelerate student progress.
  • Review and embed departmental aims and objectives in practice regularly.
  • Manage departmental resources and budget effectively to maximise impact and value for money.
  • Support the professional development and performance management of staff within the department.
  • Collaborate with other curriculum areas to promote cross-curricular learning and whole-school improvement.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified and experienced teacher eligible to work in the UK.
  • Successful experience in the 11–16 phase with a track record of delivering good or outstanding lessons.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Mathematics and a clear understanding of current curriculum developments.
  • Demonstrated leadership and organisational skills.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • Commitment to raising standards and accelerating student progress.

Preferred

  • Experience in a leadership or middle management role within education.
  • Experience with curriculum development and strategic planning.
  • Knowledge of intervention strategies and assessment practices.
  • Experience with cross-curricular collaboration and whole-school improvement initiatives.
