The Opportunity:

A Primary Teacher with SEN Responsibility is needed to support students transitioning from primary to secondary education, with a focus on raising attainment and delivering a broad, multi-subject curriculum. This role is ideal for a passionate and adaptable teacher who is committed to inclusive education and student success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality teaching across a range of subjects, with a focus on English and literacy development.
  • Support students transitioning from primary to secondary education, ensuring a smooth and positive experience.
  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the diverse needs of learners, including those with SEN.
  • Monitor, assess, and track student progress, using data to inform teaching and targeted interventions.
  • Work closely with the SENCO and wider team to provide additional support for students with SEN.
  • Raise student attainment, particularly in reading, comprehension, and core learning skills.
  • Build strong relationships with students, staff, and families to support successful transition and learning outcomes.
  • Contribute to a supportive and inclusive learning environment that enables all students to succeed.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Primary teacher with experience or strong interest in supporting learners at Key Stage 3.
  • Confidence in delivering a broad, multi-subject curriculum, with a particular strength in English and literacy development.
  • Strong understanding of strategies to raise attainment, particularly for students with lower literacy levels.
  • Experience supporting students with SEN and adapting teaching to meet a range of needs.
  • Proactive team player with the ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and families.

Preferred

  • Experience with enhanced curriculum provision and Key Stage 3 support.
  • Experience in delivering targeted interventions and using data to inform teaching.
  • Experience with the Prospere Learning Trust or similar educational institutions.
