The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dynamic Curriculum Leader to lead the Religious Education and Personal Development department, ensuring high-quality teaching and student achievement. This is a key leadership role that combines curriculum development, teaching, and staff support to drive student success and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the Religious Education and Personal Development curriculum to ensure it meets the highest standards.
  • Deliver outstanding teaching and model best practices for other staff members.
  • Support and mentor colleagues to enhance teaching and learning across the department.
  • Work collaboratively with school leadership to shape curriculum and learning strategies.
  • Ensure the curriculum promotes critical thinking, personal development, and student well-being.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing targeted support where needed.
  • Promote the school’s PROUD values and ethos across all aspects of the department.
  • Engage in professional development and contribute to school-wide initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in curriculum leadership within a secondary school setting.
  • Strong teaching experience, particularly in Religious Education and Personal Development.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a team of teachers.
  • Commitment to student-centered learning and personal development.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in developing and implementing innovative curriculum strategies.
  • Familiarity with teaching English as a Second Language or cross-curricular topics.
  • Knowledge of inclusive education and differentiated instruction.
  • Experience in leading professional development sessions for staff.
