The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality maths lessons that engage and challenge students at Key Stage 3.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to co-plan, share ideas, and develop best practice across the department and school.
  • Support students in achieving their full potential and ensuring they have Bright Futures through effective teaching and pastoral care.
  • Stay up to date with pedagogical research and integrate it into classroom practice.
  • Contribute to the development of a well-resourced and forward-thinking maths curriculum.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive classroom environment that reflects the school’s values.
  • Participate in departmental and whole-school meetings, as well as staff development opportunities.
  • Support students’ learning through formative and summative assessments.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in teaching maths at Key Stage 3.
  • Strong subject knowledge in mathematics.
  • Ability to engage students in active learning and demonstrate a reflective approach to teaching.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to the school’s ethos and values, including Love Learning, Show Kindness, Build Character, Chase Brilliance, and Bright Futures.

Preferred

  • Experience teaching to Key Stage 5.
  • Familiarity with the Bishopshalt Experience and co-curricular opportunities.
  • Experience with professional development and reflective practice.
  • Strong presentation and leadership skills.
