Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach science subjects across the 11-18 age range to high standards.
  • Plan and deliver lessons that are enjoyable, personalised, and aligned with educational objectives.
  • Contribute to the development of schemes of work, resources, and teaching materials.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing accurate records of attainment.
  • Set and mark homework in accordance with school policies and standards.
  • Promote inclusive practices and support students with SEN, literacy, and differentiation.
  • Use digital learning platforms such as Google Classroom to enhance independent learning.
  • Support and participate in extra-curricular activities, including trips, clubs, and revision sessions.
  • Encourage a positive learning environment that reflects the school's values and ethos.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree and QTS.
  • Proven experience in teaching science at secondary level.
  • Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to professional development and continuous learning.
  • Ability to plan and deliver engaging, student-centred lessons.

Preferred

  • Experience with digital learning tools and platforms.
  • Background in supporting students with special educational needs.
  • Experience in leading or contributing to curriculum development.
  • Involvement in extra-curricular activities or pastoral care.
