Daytime Tutor with flexibility and impact in Huntingdon, St Ives, and surrounding areas.

The Opportunity:

As a Daytime Tutor, you will have the freedom to deliver tailored 1:1 or small group sessions to students with a range of learning needs, including those with SEND, SEMH, and EBSA. Your role is vital in helping students achieve their academic and personal goals, while working in a flexible and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering 1:1 or small group tutoring sessions in schools, local centres, or students' homes
  • Planning and preparing sessions that meet academic and therapeutic goals
  • Building strong, trusting relationships with students and their families
  • Setting and reviewing learning targets in collaboration with students and referrers
  • Assessing and regularly reporting on student progress
  • Ensuring all safeguarding policies and procedures are strictly followed
  • Working with local authorities and schools to achieve agreed educational outcomes

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • QTS/QTLS, a Bachelor’s degree, or experienced HLTA
  • Minimum 2 years of teaching or tutoring experience
  • Experience working with students with special educational needs and disabilities
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding procedures

Preferred

  • Experience with students with SEMH or EBSA needs
  • Ability to work in multiple settings, including schools and youth centres
  • Familiarity with online and in-person teaching methods
  • Experience in curriculum development or lesson planning

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive hourly rate of £28 - £32
