The Opportunity:
As a Daytime Tutor, you will have the freedom to shape lessons and support students with diverse needs, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges. This role allows you to make a real difference in students’ lives while enjoying flexibility and autonomy in your teaching approach.
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivering 1:1 and small group tutoring sessions in schools, local centres, or students’ homes
- Planning and preparing lessons that align with academic, therapeutic, and personal development goals
- Building strong, trusting relationships with students to support their learning journey
- Collaborating with students to set realistic and achievable learning targets
- Regularly assessing and reporting on student progress to ensure goals are met
- Adhering to strict safeguarding policies and procedures at all times
- Working with local authorities and schools to meet agreed educational outcomes
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- QTS/QTLS, a Bachelor’s degree, or experienced HLTA
- Minimum 2 years of teaching or tutoring experience
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding procedures
- Ability to work with students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH), and Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA)
Preferred
- Experience in working with students at KS1 to KS5 levels
- Familiarity with academic subjects such as Maths, English, and Science
- Experience in delivering therapeutic or alternative provision
- Flexibility to work in-person or online, and across multiple locations
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive hourly rate between £28 - £32
- Flexible working hours up to 30 hours per week
