The Opportunity:

As a Daytime Tutor, you will provide tailored academic support to children and young people with a range of needs, including those with SEND, SEMH, and EBSA. This role offers flexibility, the freedom to teach your way, and the opportunity to make a real difference in students’ lives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Delivering 1:1 or small group tutoring sessions in schools, local centres, or homes
• Planning and preparing lessons that meet academic, therapeutic, and personal goals
• Building strong, trusting relationships with students and their families
• Setting and reviewing learning targets and outcomes in collaboration with students
• Assessing and regularly reporting on student progress
• Ensuring adherence to safeguarding policies and procedures at all times
• Working with schools and local authorities to achieve agreed educational outcomes
• Supporting students with learning and behavioural difficulties across a range of subjects

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• QTS/QTLS or a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience as an HLTA
• Minimum 2 years of teaching or tutoring experience, preferably with students with special educational needs
• Strong knowledge of safeguarding procedures and student wellbeing
• Ability to create and deliver individualised lesson plans

Preferred

• Experience working with students with SEMH, SEND, or EBSA
• Familiarity with Education Health Care Plans (EHCP)
• Experience with teaching Maths, English, or Science
• Experience in alternative or out-of-school provision

Compensation & Benefits:

• Competitive hourly rate between £28 and £32
