The Opportunity:

As a Daytime Tutor, you will provide targeted support to children and young people with a range of needs, including those with SEND, SEMH, and EBSA. This role offers the freedom to shape lessons and build meaningful relationships with students, making a real difference in their academic and personal development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering 1:1 and small group tutoring sessions in schools, community centres, and homes
  • Planning and preparing lessons that meet academic and therapeutic goals
  • Building trust and rapport with students to support their learning journey
  • Setting and reviewing regular learning targets with students and referrers
  • Assessing and reporting on student progress consistently
  • Ensuring the safeguarding and well-being of students at all times
  • Collaborating with schools and local authorities to achieve agreed educational outcomes

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • QTS/QTLS or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree or experienced HLTA)
  • Minimum 2 years of teaching or tutoring experience, preferably with students with SEND, SEMH, or EBSA needs
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred

  • Experience in working with students with complex needs
  • Familiarity with Education Health Care Plans (EHCP)
  • Experience in delivering lessons in multiple settings (school, home, and community centres)
  • Proficiency in using virtual learning platforms and assessment tools
