The Opportunity:
As a Daytime Tutor, you will provide targeted support to children and young people with a range of needs, including those with SEND, SEMH, and EBSA. This role offers the freedom to shape lessons and build meaningful relationships with students, making a real difference in their academic and personal development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivering 1:1 and small group tutoring sessions in schools, community centres, and homes
- Planning and preparing lessons that meet academic and therapeutic goals
- Building trust and rapport with students to support their learning journey
- Setting and reviewing regular learning targets with students and referrers
- Assessing and reporting on student progress consistently
- Ensuring the safeguarding and well-being of students at all times
- Collaborating with schools and local authorities to achieve agreed educational outcomes
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- QTS/QTLS or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree or experienced HLTA)
- Minimum 2 years of teaching or tutoring experience, preferably with students with SEND, SEMH, or EBSA needs
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred
- Experience in working with students with complex needs
- Familiarity with Education Health Care Plans (EHCP)
- Experience in delivering lessons in multiple settings (school, home, and community centres)
- Proficiency in using virtual learning platforms and assessment tools
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive hourly rate of £28 - £32
