The Opportunity:

As a Daytime Tutor, you will provide targeted academic and therapeutic support to students in a flexible, student-centred environment. This role allows you to shape lessons and build meaningful relationships while making a real difference in young people’s lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering 1:1 and small group tutoring sessions in schools, local centres, or students’ homes
  • Planning and preparing lessons that meet academic and therapeutic goals
  • Building trust and rapport with students to support their learning and personal development
  • Setting and reviewing regular learning targets and outcomes in collaboration with students
  • Assessing and reporting on student progress to referrers and schools
  • Ensuring all safeguarding policies and procedures are followed at all times
  • Working with local authorities and schools to understand student needs and expectations
  • Supporting students with a wide range of academic and personal challenges

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • QTS/QTLS or a Bachelor’s degree or experienced HLTA
  • Minimum 2 years of teaching or tutoring experience, preferably with students with SEND, SEMH, or EBSA
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with students, schools, and families

Preferred

  • Experience with students at KS1 to KS5 levels
  • Familiarity with teaching Maths, English, and Science
  • Experience in alternative or out-of-school provision
  • Knowledge of therapeutic support strategies for students with complex needs
