The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Deputy Head of Junior School to lead and support the Head of Junior in the strategic management of a thriving school community. This role is central to driving academic success, fostering a positive school culture, and ensuring high standards in teaching and student achievement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Head of Junior in the strategic leadership and daily management of the Junior School.
  • Oversee curriculum delivery, ensuring alignment with the National Curriculum for England and the school’s educational goals.
  • Lead and support staff development, including professional training and performance management.
  • Manage and promote a wide range of extra-curricular activities to enhance student engagement and learning.
  • Foster strong relationships with parents and the wider school community to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Contribute to school improvement initiatives and drive continuous enhancement in teaching and learning outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with national and international educational standards and school policies.
  • Play a key role in preparing for and supporting successful school inspections and evaluations.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education from a recognized university, preferably from the UK or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as Deputy Head of Junior at an international school or similar role, with at least 3 years of teaching experience in a British curriculum school.
  • Teaching License from the UK, US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, or Scandinavian countries.
  • Strong knowledge and experience of the British Curriculum and UK education system.

Preferred

  • NPQH or similar leadership certification.
  • Experience with Islamic education and Arabic language instruction.
  • Familiarity with international school operations and accreditation processes.
