The Opportunity:

As a Deputy Nursery Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the leadership and daily operations of a high-quality early years setting. Working closely with the Nursery Manager, you will ensure the nursery meets the highest standards, supports staff, and delivers exceptional care and education to children. Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the day-to-day running of the nursery, including managing staff rotas and conducting health and safety checks.
  • Deliver and support a high-quality EYFS curriculum, ensuring engaging and effective learning for all children.
  • Mentor and supervise Room Leaders and Practitioners, contributing to staff development and performance reviews.
  • Act as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, ensuring a safe and secure environment for children, staff, and visitors.
  • Build strong relationships with families, communicate children’s progress, and support parent engagement and tours.
  • Ensure the nursery consistently meets all statutory requirements and maintains excellent standards of care and education.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Minimum Level 3 qualification in childcare, education, or equivalent.
  • Experience in a supervisory or Room Leader role within an Early Years setting.
  • Strong knowledge of EYFS, safeguarding procedures, and health & safety legislation.

Preferred

  • Previous experience in a DSL or DDSL role.
  • Knowledge and experience of the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) and Independent Schools Standards (ISSR).
