Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a successful Mathematics Faculty, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve student achievement and outcomes in Mathematics.
- Support and mentor staff within the department, fostering a culture of continuous professional development.
- Oversee the curriculum across all key stages, including A Level and Further Mathematics.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance cross-subject initiatives and student engagement.
- Work closely with senior leadership to ensure alignment with school-wide goals and priorities.
- Monitor and evaluate departmental performance, identifying areas for improvement and innovation.
- Represent the department in meetings, conferences, and external events.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven leadership experience within a secondary Mathematics department.
- Strong academic background and a track record of success in Mathematics education.
- Experience in delivering high-quality teaching and learning across all key stages.
- Ability to manage and motivate a team of Mathematics staff.
- Demonstrated ability to improve student outcomes and achieve high results.
Preferred
- Experience in leading a large and successful Mathematics department.
- Familiarity with the Early Career Framework and Initial Teacher Training.
- Experience with A Level and Further Mathematics qualifications.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
