The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Design and Technology Teacher (Food) to join our growing school community. This role offers the chance to inspire students through creative and practical lessons, while contributing to a school that values innovation, inclusivity, and excellence in education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality lessons in Design and Technology (Food) that engage students and align with curriculum outcomes.
  • Plan and prepare resources, schemes of work, and classroom displays to support effective teaching and learning.
  • Manage and motivate students in a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Support students with special educational needs (SEN), English as an Additional Language (EAL), and gifted and talented learners through differentiated instruction.
  • Facilitate hybrid, distance, and face-to-face learning in line with school policies.
  • Maintain strong relationships with students, colleagues, and parents, ensuring a safe and respectful learning environment.
  • Reflect on teaching practice and make adjustments to improve student outcomes and engagement.
  • Participate in extra-curricular activities and contribute to the overall development of the school.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related subject and a PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience teaching in a similar role.
  • Experience working in an international school setting.
  • Experience teaching students for whom English is not their first language (EAL).

Preferred

  • Experience in Food Technology or related specialism.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for working with parents and stakeholders.
  • Involvement in extra-curricular activities and leadership roles.
  • Experience with curriculum development and innovative teaching practices.
