Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality science lessons across Key Stage 3, 4, and 5, including GCSE, A Level, and BTEC pathways.
  • Plan and implement engaging, well-structured schemes of work aligned with the UK National Curriculum and examination board requirements.
  • Promote scientific enquiry through practical investigations, experimentation, and data analysis.
  • Provide clear feedback and guidance to students to support their progress and achievement in external qualifications.
  • Ensure a safe, stimulating, and well-organised learning environment in science classrooms and laboratories.
  • Use a range of teaching strategies, including digital tools and blended learning, to enhance student engagement.
  • Support the needs of all learners, including students with additional needs, EAL learners, and gifted and talented students.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and professional development within the science department.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in a related subject with a PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar teaching role.
  • Experience working in an international school.
  • Experience working with EAL students.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching biology, chemistry, or physics at Key Stage 4 and 5.
  • Recent and consistent involvement in extra-curricular activities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for communication with parents in a multi-cultural environment.
  • A positive and solution-focused attitude to teaching and professional life.
