The Opportunity:

A school is seeking a passionate and inspirational Design and Technology Teacher to join a dynamic faculty. This role offers the chance to teach across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, with a focus on Food and the potential to contribute to Textile Design and other disciplines. The successful candidate will help shape an exciting and innovative curriculum that supports student growth and achievement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Design and Technology to students aged 11–18, with a focus on Food and the potential to teach Textile Design and other disciplines.
  • Contribute to the development of a challenging, relevant, and personalized curriculum.
  • Ensure all students make good or outstanding progress with high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Support the school’s CPD initiatives by sharing best practices and resources.
  • Promote the profile of Design and Technology through engaging learning opportunities and extra-curricular activities.
  • Manage classroom resources and create a stimulating environment for learning.
  • Deliver high-quality feedback and monitoring to support student progress and attainment.
  • Collaborate with parents to support student development and engagement.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Design and Technology, specifically Food.
  • Ability to teach across Key Stages 3 and 4, with some Key Stage 5 experience preferred.
  • Commitment to innovative and student-centered teaching methods.
  • Strong understanding of curriculum design and delivery.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in Textile Design or other Design and Technology disciplines.
  • Experience with project-based learning and the integration of ICT in teaching.
  • Background in coaching or mentoring colleagues.
  • Involvement in extra-curricular activities or leadership roles within a school setting.
