As a Design and Technology Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting the teaching and learning experience within the department. Your responsibilities will include preparing materials, maintaining equipment, and assisting staff in delivering high-quality practical lessons. Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and organise materials and equipment for lessons in advance
• Maintain and store hand tools and workshop equipment in optimal condition
• Clean and service dust extraction filters according to manufacturer guidelines
• Ensure all classrooms and workshop areas are tidy, safe, and hazard-free
• Assist Technology staff in developing resources and teaching materials
• Support the organisation and execution of trips, competitions, and exhibitions
• Manage the storage, cataloguing, and stock-taking of departmental materials
• Promote and raise the profile of Design Technology within and outside the institution
• Support the integration of Computer Aided Design & Manufacture in teaching

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Practical experience with tools, equipment, and materials
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications
• Commitment to health and safety standards

Preferred

• Experience with Techsoft Design and Fusion 360
• Background in teaching or supporting practical lessons
• Experience in managing inventory and ordering supplies
• Initiative and the ability to multi-task effectively
