The Opportunity:

As an Exams Officer, you will be responsible for managing the administration of all external and internal examinations. This role is vital to ensuring compliance with exam board regulations and delivering a seamless examination process for students and staff alike.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the end-to-end administration of all external examinations, including Pearson Edexcel, Cambridge International, and AQA.
  • Coordinate examination timetables in line with awarding body requirements and the school calendar.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant exam board and JCQ regulations, policies, and deadlines.
  • Maintain accurate candidate registration and entry data for all qualifications.
  • Administer access arrangements in collaboration with the SENCo, ensuring compliance with awarding body regulations.
  • Train and deploy invigilators in accordance with examination board expectations.
  • Oversee the secure storage, handling, and distribution of examination materials.
  • Ensure the safe and timely dispatch of completed scripts and coursework to awarding bodies.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff and pupils on examination procedures and regulations.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Relevant experience of working within an educational setting, ideally in an examinations or administrative capacity.
  • A sound understanding of secondary education and examinations.
  • Exceptional organisational and administrative skills.
  • Strong understanding of exam board requirements and the management of confidential pupil data.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Confident and competent user of IT for administrative purposes.
  • Ability to manage a range of examination series, including international and UK exams.
  • Highly organised and methodical in processing information relevant to examinations.
  • Proactive in remaining up to date with current exam board regulations and JCQ guidance.

Preferred

  • Experience with international and UK exam boards.
  • Experience in a multicultural and diverse school environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Experience with the use of AI in assessments and malpractice procedures.
