The Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate and inspiring Design Technology Teacher to join our dynamic department. This role offers the opportunity to teach students from Years 7 to 13 and contribute to a thriving, innovative learning environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in preparing students for GCSE and A Level qualifications in Design and Technology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality lessons in Design Technology to students across all key stages.
- Prepare and assess students for AQA Design and Technology examinations at GCSE and A Level.
- Utilize modern facilities, including a state-of-the-art Design Technology Centre with 3D printers, CNC machinery, and laser cutters.
- Contribute to the co-curricular programme and support the wider life of the school.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop innovative and engaging teaching resources.
- Provide pastoral support and mentorship to students as part of the school’s commitment to student well-being.
- Stay up to date with developments in the field of Design Technology and incorporate new ideas into teaching practice.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with a relevant degree in Design Technology or a related field.
- Experience teaching Design and Technology at Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
- Strong subject knowledge and the ability to inspire and motivate students.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Preferred
- Experience with AQA Design and Technology qualifications.
- Familiarity with CAD and other design software.
- Experience working in a co-educational environment.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Experience in pastoral care and student support.
