The Opportunity:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and inspiring Science Teacher to join our dynamic department, teaching Key Stages 3 and 4. This is a fixed-term role for one year, offering the chance to make a meaningful impact on student learning and development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality Science lessons to Key Stages 3 and 4, ensuring engaging and effective teaching.
- Contribute to the co-curricular programme and wider life of the school.
- Support students in both academic and pastoral development.
- Maintain strong subject knowledge and keep up to date with developments in Science education.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the Science curriculum and teaching methods.
- Encourage students to engage in extra-curricular activities related to Science.
- Monitor and assess student progress effectively.
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of Science department strategies.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Science teacher with relevant subject knowledge.
- Experience teaching Science to Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Commitment to student welfare and pastoral care.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to a team environment.
Preferred
- Experience in a school with a strong co-curricular programme.
- NQTs with strong potential and a passion for Science education.
- Experience with innovative teaching methods and technology in the classroom.
- Background in promoting Science beyond the curriculum, such as through extra-curricular activities or outreach.
