The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Design Technology lessons across key stages, including GCSE and A Level qualifications.
  • Manage and maintain a range of specialist facilities, including workshops, multimedia rooms, and 3D printing equipment.
  • Encourage student creativity and innovation through the use of CAD software, CNC routers, and laser cutters.
  • Support students in achieving excellent academic results and preparing for opportunities such as the Arkwright Scholarship.
  • Contribute to the extra-curricular life of the department and school through enrichment activities and events.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement a stimulating and challenging curriculum.
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Design Technology.
  • Experience teaching Design Technology GCSE, A Level Product Design, Fashion and Textiles, and Food Preparation and Nutrition.
  • Strong knowledge of CAD software, CNC routers, laser cutters, and 3D printing.
  • Commitment to student safety and well-being in a practical learning environment.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading or contributing to extra-curricular activities.
  • Experience with curriculum development and assessment.
  • Experience working in a high-performing school environment.
