The Opportunity:

As the Designated Safeguarding Lead and Events Coordinator, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children, while also contributing to the success of a diverse range of events and courses. This is a unique opportunity to combine safeguarding expertise with event management in a dynamic and forward-thinking institution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the senior point of contact for all safeguarding and child protection matters.
  • Provide expert advice, guidance, and support to staff on safeguarding issues.
  • Liaise with pastoral support staff, school nurses, and IT colleagues on safety and welfare matters.
  • Exercise professional judgement in handling safeguarding concerns and making referrals.
  • Work with local authorities and external agencies as needed to ensure child safety.
  • Plan, promote, and deliver a range of residential and non-residential courses and events.
  • Support the commercial success of the school's enterprise activities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Prior experience of safeguarding at DSL level.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to provide clear guidance to a wide range of colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Preferred

  • Experience of event or course management.
  • Confidence in working with external agencies and local authorities.
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends, especially during peak periods.
