The Opportunity:
As the Designated Safeguarding Lead and Events Coordinator, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children, while also contributing to the success of a diverse range of events and courses. This is a unique opportunity to combine safeguarding expertise with event management in a dynamic and forward-thinking institution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the senior point of contact for all safeguarding and child protection matters.
- Provide expert advice, guidance, and support to staff on safeguarding issues.
- Liaise with pastoral support staff, school nurses, and IT colleagues on safety and welfare matters.
- Exercise professional judgement in handling safeguarding concerns and making referrals.
- Work with local authorities and external agencies as needed to ensure child safety.
- Plan, promote, and deliver a range of residential and non-residential courses and events.
- Support the commercial success of the school's enterprise activities.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Prior experience of safeguarding at DSL level.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to provide clear guidance to a wide range of colleagues and stakeholders.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Preferred
- Experience of event or course management.
- Confidence in working with external agencies and local authorities.
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends, especially during peak periods.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive salary of £28,600 per annum.
