The Opportunity:

We are seeking a motivated Laundry Assistant to join our team on a fixed-term basis. This role is essential in maintaining the high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across the school, ensuring students' clothing and bedding are always well-kept and ready for use.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the collection, sorting, and washing of students’ laundry, ensuring a high standard of cleanliness.
• Maintain a clean and orderly laundry area, following health and safety protocols.
• Communicate effectively with students and staff regarding laundry schedules and requirements.
• Work collaboratively with other members of the laundry team to meet operational goals.
• Ensure all laundry is returned to students in a timely and efficient manner.
• Adhere to the school’s policies and procedures, including safeguarding and welfare guidelines.
• Keep accurate records of laundry items and any issues encountered.
• Support the school’s commitment to a safe and inclusive environment for all.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Experience in a laundry or similar role, preferably within an educational setting.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
• Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively with others.
• Flexibility to work within a fixed-term schedule and during term time.
• A positive attitude and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.

Preferred

• Previous experience working with children or in a boarding environment.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a laundry setting.
• Basic computer skills for record-keeping and communication purposes.
