The Opportunity:

As the Director of Academic Excellence, you will play a pivotal role in driving educational improvement and consistency across the school. This position is central to the school’s next phase of development, with a focus on curriculum development, professional learning, and performance management. The successful candidate will be instrumental in aligning teaching and learning practices across all phases and campuses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the development of a cohesive and vertically aligned curriculum across all phases and campuses.
  • Drive continuous improvement in teaching and learning through professional development and performance management strategies.
  • Implement and monitor the school’s commitment to High Performance Learning (HPL) principles and practices.
  • Support and develop staff through targeted professional learning opportunities and coaching.
  • Oversee the assessment and feedback processes to ensure alignment with the school’s educational goals and student outcomes.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure a consistent and high-quality educational experience for all students.
  • Promote a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement across the school.
  • Ensure that all teaching and learning practices are up to date with current educational research and pedagogical thinking.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a senior academic leadership role within an international school setting.
  • Strong knowledge of curriculum development, teaching and learning strategies, and assessment practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage professional development and performance management processes.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to ongoing personal and professional development.
  • Passion for improving student outcomes and fostering a culture of academic excellence.

Preferred

  • Experience with High Performance Learning (HPL) frameworks and practices.
  • Familiarity with British curriculum standards and international qualifications such as IGCSE and A Levels.
  • Experience in managing and aligning educational practices across multiple campuses.
  • Strong understanding of personalised learning and student-centred teaching approaches.
