Key Responsibilities:
- Teach English to secondary students using the Cambridge IGCSE ESL curriculum.
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that promote student achievement and enthusiasm for learning.
- Manage classroom environments that are safe, inclusive, and conducive to learning.
- Participate in extracurricular activities and contribute to the wider life of the school.
- Support students with diverse linguistic backgrounds through differentiated instruction and individualized attention.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and enhance teaching and learning outcomes.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and performance.
- Stay current with educational trends, technologies, and pedagogical approaches.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A Bachelor’s degree in education or a relevant subject.
- Proven teaching experience, with familiarity with the Cambridge IGCSE ESL curriculum.
- Strong commitment to high standards and a variety of teaching and learning approaches.
- Excellent classroom management and interpersonal skills.
- Recent and consistent involvement in extracurricular activities.
- Experience working with students for whom English is not their first language.
- A clean background or police check with no issues regarding suitability to work with children.
Preferred
- Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Good level of IT skills.
