Summary:

Director of Student Support needed to lead inclusive education and SEND strategy across UK campuses.

The Opportunity:

As the Director of Student Support, you will lead the development and implementation of a national strategy for SEND and inclusive education. This role offers the chance to influence practice across multiple campuses and drive excellence in student support, ensuring that every learner has the opportunity to thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and lead the UK-wide strategy for SEND and inclusive education, aligned with statutory requirements and educational priorities.
  • Provide system-level leadership to ensure consistent, high-quality provision of support across all campuses.
  • Lead and develop the Regional SENDCo team, building capability and promoting professional excellence.
  • Oversee the identification of need, quality of provision, and impact of support for learners with additional needs.
  • Manage the national SEND budget, ensuring ethical and sustainable use of resources.
  • Monitor compliance with SEND legislation, providing assurance and risk oversight.
  • Act as the point of escalation for complex or high-risk student support cases.
  • Collaborate with Teaching & Learning, Safeguarding, and Campus leaders to embed inclusive practice.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in leading SEND and inclusive education strategies at a system level.
  • Strong leadership and coaching skills with the ability to build high-performing teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to use data and evidence to drive improvement and decision-making.
  • Deep understanding of inclusive education and high-quality teaching practices.
  • Experience in managing budgets and resources effectively.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and credibly with senior leaders, staff, families, and external partners.

Preferred

  • Experience with strategic planning and policy development in education.
  • Familiarity with international educational frameworks and standards.
  • Experience in working with diverse student populations and supporting learners with additional needs.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection practices.
