The Opportunity:
As a Domestic Assistant, you will play a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment throughout the school. Your work will directly contribute to the comfort and well-being of students, staff, and visitors, ensuring that the school operates efficiently and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across all areas of the school
- Follow manufacturer instructions, COSHH regulations, and health and safety legislation when using equipment and chemicals
- Carry out daily and weekly cleaning routines, as well as any additional tasks as required
- Support other members of the domestic team in completing tasks efficiently
- Assist with laundry operations when necessary
- Report compliments, comments, and complaints to the relevant person
- Identify and report any defects, damage, theft, or hazards promptly
- Ensure all duties are carried out safely, with attention to the well-being of all individuals on site
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience in cleaning or maintenance roles
- Ability to follow health and safety procedures and COSHH regulations
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify and report issues
- Ability to work as part of a team and support colleagues where needed
Preferred
- Experience in a school or educational setting
- Previous experience with laundry or housekeeping duties
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies
- Flexibility to work term-time only and on a part-time basis
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
