Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver high-quality mathematics instruction aligned with the IB curriculum and UWC values.
  • Foster a classroom environment that encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and a growth mindset.
  • Monitor student progress through a variety of assessment methods and provide timely, constructive feedback.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching practices and curriculum development.
  • Support students in taking ownership of their learning and developing resilience through mistakes.
  • Maintain open and effective communication with parents regarding student progress and program expectations.
  • Participate in professional development and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Build strong relationships with students, families, and the broader school community.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A degree and professional teaching qualification.
  • Minimum of 2 years of successful teaching experience, preferably in an international school setting.
  • Demonstrated experience in teaching DP Mathematics, including Analysis and Approaches (AA) and Applications and Interpretations (AI) at Higher and Standard Level.
  • Strong understanding of the IB curriculum and learner profile.

Preferred

  • Experience with MYP Mathematics for Grades 9 and 10.
  • Background in outdoor experiential education or service learning.
  • Familiarity with mindfulness practices in education.
  • Experience working in a culturally diverse environment.
