The Opportunity:

As a Global Politics Teacher, you will play a key role in shaping the academic and personal development of students in grades 11 and 12. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver high-quality curriculum aligned with the IB Learner Profile and UWC values.
  • Foster a classroom environment that encourages student engagement, critical thinking, and personal growth.
  • Monitor student progress and provide timely, meaningful feedback to support learning and development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching practices and curriculum design.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Support students in taking responsibility for their learning and developing resilience.
  • Build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure student success.
  • Participate in co-curricular activities and contribute to the school’s mission and values.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Political Science, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience teaching Global Politics at the IB Diploma Programme level.
  • Strong understanding of the IB curriculum and pedagogy.
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
  • Commitment to UWC values and the IB Learner Profile.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented, collegial environment.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching MYP Individuals and Societies or TOK.
  • Leadership experience in curriculum development or SEL programs.
  • Experience with outdoor experiential education or service learning initiatives.
  • Fluency in a second language.
