The Opportunity:

As a Drama Teacher Key Stage 2, you will inspire and engage young learners through dynamic drama lessons that develop their confidence, communication skills, and creativity. You will deliver the UK curriculum for Drama and Theatre Studies tailored to Key Stage 2 students while fostering a supportive environment where every child can thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and creative drama lessons aligned with the UK curriculum for Key Stage 2 students
  • Plan and implement lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages creativity and self-expression
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the Performing Arts department to enhance the overall drama program
  • Direct and participate in school plays and performances to enrich the student experience
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to support student development
  • Monitor and assess student progress in line with curriculum standards
  • Stay up to date with best practices in drama pedagogy and incorporate them into teaching

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Drama Education, Theatre Studies, or a related field
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification recognized by the UK education system
  • Minimum of four years’ teaching experience in primary/elementary schools delivering the UK curriculum
  • Strong knowledge of drama pedagogy appropriate for Key Stage 2 learners
  • Excellent classroom management skills with the ability to motivate young children

Preferred

  • Experience directing school plays or performances
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team
  • Commitment to continuous professional development
