The Opportunity:

As a School Counsellor, you will play a vital role in promoting the emotional well-being of prep school students. You will provide guidance, support, and counselling services aligned with the UK curriculum framework, helping students develop resilience and positive mental health in a dynamic international setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group counselling sessions to support students’ emotional and social development
  • Implement and maintain counselling programs in line with UK curriculum standards
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to support student well-being and academic success
  • Conduct assessments and interventions to identify and address student needs
  • Develop strategies for conflict resolution, behaviour management, and crisis intervention
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding policies and procedures within the school
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with stakeholders
  • Support the school’s commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Counselling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a school counsellor or in a similar role working with primary-aged children
  • Strong understanding of child development and emotional well-being at the elementary level
  • Experience implementing counselling programs aligned with UK curriculum standards
  • Excellent communication skills with children, parents, teachers, and staff from diverse backgrounds
  • Knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures within international schools

Preferred

  • Relevant certifications in education or school counselling
  • Experience with international or British curriculum schools
  • Skilled in conflict resolution and behaviour management strategies
  • Proactive approach to identifying and addressing student well-being concerns
  • Commitment to continuous professional development
