The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Drama Teacher to deliver engaging lessons across KS2 and Secondary, supporting students in becoming articulate communicators and confident performers. This role is ideal for educators who value oracy and creative learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Drama lessons across KS2 and Secondary, using performance, improvisation, and script work to enhance learning.
  • Create an inclusive, inspiring, and vibrant learning environment that encourages creativity and collaboration.
  • Develop and implement progressive schemes of work aligned with the National Curriculum for Drama/Performing Arts.
  • Support students in building confidence, expressive communication, and reflective thinking through drama and oracy practices.
  • Contribute to school productions, assemblies, and whole-school events, promoting a culture of performance and creativity.
  • Apply effective assessment strategies to support student progression and performance development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance whole-school performing arts provision and extracurricular opportunities.
  • Use technology to support rehearsal, performance, and reflection in the classroom.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – PGCE, BEd or equivalent
  • UK bachelor’s degree in Drama, Performing Arts or a related discipline
  • Recent teaching experience in a UK or BSO-accredited school
  • Experience delivering Drama across KS2 and/or Secondary
  • Strong classroom management and high expectations for pupil behaviour
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Fluency in English and a clean enhanced DBS / police clearance

Preferred

  • Experience with oracy-based teaching strategies
  • Background in Philosophy for Children (P4C) or similar dialogic approaches
  • Experience with Islamic culture and values in an educational context
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and innovation in teaching practice
