The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and creative Drama Teacher to join our Summer School program. This role offers the chance to inspire and engage students aged 14-17 through a unique blend of classroom instruction and academic excursions. The position is ideal for educators who are enthusiastic about theatre and performance and want to make a meaningful impact during the summer months.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality drama and theatre lessons to students aged 14-17.
  • Plan and execute engaging and interactive classroom activities.
  • Coordinate and lead academic excursions, including visits to museums, universities, and sites of interest.
  • Support students during a final showcase event on the last Friday of the course.
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.
  • Collaborate with other teachers and staff to enhance the summer school experience.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and participation.
  • Adhere to the school’s safeguarding and child protection policies.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Relevant teaching qualification or experience in drama/theatre education.
  • Proven ability to engage and inspire students of all abilities.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Experience working with young people aged 14-17.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Familiarity with academic excursions and field trips.
  • Knowledge of London’s cultural and educational landmarks.
  • Experience with curriculum planning and delivery.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
