The Opportunity:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate EAL Teacher to join our Senior School and deliver high-quality English as an Additional Language provision. This role enables students to access the full curriculum with confidence and independence. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic and growing educational community.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging and effective EAL provision to support students in accessing the full curriculum.
• Develop and implement individualized learning plans tailored to the needs of EAL students.
• Collaborate with subject teachers and support staff to ensure a cohesive approach to student learning.
• Monitor and assess student progress regularly, providing detailed feedback and support.
• Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities.
• Support students in developing their language skills across all subjects.
• Contribute to the school’s mission of fostering academic and personal growth.
• Assist in the development of EAL policies and procedures where appropriate.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Qualified teacher with experience in EAL or ESL education.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
• Experience in teaching English as an Additional Language.

Preferred

• Experience in teaching English First Language and/or English Literature to IGCSE.
• Leadership experience, with potential for progression to Head of EAL.
• Familiarity with international curricula such as IGCSE or IB.
• Experience working in a multicultural and international environment.
