The Opportunity:

As an EAL Teacher, you will play a vital role in helping multilingual learners develop essential English language skills. You will deliver engaging lessons aligned with the American curriculum and support students in becoming confident, independent learners who can fully participate in school life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging EAL lessons aligned with the American curriculum framework
  • Support students in developing reading, writing, and speaking skills in English
  • Use student-centered instructional practices that encourage communication and language development
  • Integrate technology and diverse resources to enhance active learning
  • Assess and monitor student progress through formative and summative assessments
  • Create an inclusive classroom environment where students feel supported and challenged
  • Collaborate with colleagues to strengthen curriculum development and instructional practices
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school through extracurricular activities and community engagement

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A Bachelor’s degree in English, Linguistics, or a related field
  • A recognized teaching qualification (PGCE, B.Ed., or equivalent)
  • Experience teaching English as an Additional Language
  • Experience with or training in an American curriculum framework
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills

Preferred

  • Experience in an international school setting
  • Commitment to student-centered learning and inquiry-based instruction
