Summary:

Seeking an experienced Elementary Counselor to support student well-being at a school committed to academic and emotional growth.

The Opportunity:

As an Elementary Counselor, you will play a crucial role in supporting the social and emotional well-being of students within a school that follows the Common Core curriculum. This position requires a dedicated professional who is passionate about fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for young learners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group counseling sessions to elementary students
  • Support students in developing social-emotional skills through targeted interventions and guidance
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and staff to promote student well-being and academic success
  • Implement and monitor behavior management strategies and conflict resolution techniques
  • Conduct assessments and develop individualized support plans for students in need
  • Promote mental health awareness and resources within the school community
  • Maintain accurate and confidential student records and documentation
  • Participate in school events, parent meetings, and professional development opportunities

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Counseling, Psychology, Education, or related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a school counselor or in a similar role with elementary-aged children
  • Strong understanding of child development and social-emotional learning principles
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to provide effective individual and group counseling

Preferred

  • Knowledge of the Common Core curriculum framework
  • Experience with crisis intervention and behavior management strategies
  • Multicultural sensitivity and experience working in an international educational setting
