The Opportunity:
As an Elementary Counselor, you will play a crucial role in supporting the social and emotional well-being of students within a school that follows the Common Core curriculum. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions to elementary students
- Support students in developing social-emotional skills through targeted interventions and guidance
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and staff to promote student well-being and academic success
- Implement and monitor behavior management strategies and conflict resolution techniques
- Conduct assessments and develop individualized support plans for students in need
- Promote mental health awareness and resources within the school community
- Maintain accurate and confidential student records and documentation
- Participate in school events, parent meetings, and professional development opportunities
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Counseling, Psychology, Education, or related field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a school counselor or in a similar role with elementary-aged children
- Strong understanding of child development and social-emotional learning principles
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to provide effective individual and group counseling
Preferred
- Knowledge of the Common Core curriculum framework
- Experience with crisis intervention and behavior management strategies
- Multicultural sensitivity and experience working in an international educational setting
