The Opportunity:

The Elementary School Instructional Coach plays a vital role in supporting teachers and improving student learning outcomes. This position is ideal for someone passionate about instructional leadership, curriculum development, and fostering a collaborative school culture. The coach will work closely with faculty to implement research-based strategies and support the delivery of a high-quality, standards-aligned curriculum.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support teachers in developing and implementing effective instructional strategies aligned with UbD framework and school-wide goals.
  • Provide on-site professional development that enhances teaching practices and student achievement.
  • Collaborate with faculty to identify and apply research-based interventions and differentiated learning strategies.
  • Facilitate the use of formative assessments and progress monitoring tools to improve student outcomes.
  • Assist in the implementation of schoolwide initiatives such as WASC self-study and action planning.
  • Work with teachers to develop units of work using UbD strategies and other best practices.
  • Promote a collaborative, non-evaluative coaching relationship that builds trust and professional growth.
  • Support the integration of technology and innovative teaching practices in the classroom.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant subject area.
  • Certification in education.
  • Minimum 2 years of successful teaching experience in a school setting.
  • Experience working with ethnically diverse populations, students with learning differences, and English Language Learners.
  • Familiarity with UbD curriculum planning approach and instructional frameworks.

Preferred

  • Advanced degree or specialization training in education.
  • Certification in Instructional Coaching or willingness to obtain.
  • Experience in international school settings and familiarity with the American educational system.
  • Experience creating units of work using UbD strategies.
  • Strong knowledge of MTSS and UDL principles.
